WHO WE ARE
WHAT WE DO
WHY WE DO IT

Our initial recruitment of team members began in 1999. The Development Outreach Program consists of:

  • Reinforcement of the belief that we, as men of God, should stand strong and tell the devil that No weapon formed against our Youth shall prosper. We must take a strong stand to defend our youth from the devices of our worst adversary, the devil, by reaching out and promoting Godly principles in the avenues open to us.

  • Helping the Youth recognize their full potential, while teaching Responsibility, Dependability, Reliability, Teamwork, Respect and - above all - show them how a relationship with God will help them obtain their goals.

  • Providing an activity of interest to the young people.  Basketball was chosen because it seems to bring more youth (as participants) and adults (as supporters and spectators) together more than some other activities.  Basketball, as with all structured team sports, builds character and promotes good sportsmanship.

Our players are recruited from church groups, school teams, recreation centers, and the general community and we are funded by parents, company donations, youth activities (e.g car washes and other fundraisers), and basketball tournament proceeds with support from the Villa Rica Recreational Department, Freedom King Mission International Ministry, local Middle/High Schools, and all area in the West Atlanta Metro area.

Mission:

  1. Vision – To develop fundamental basketball skills and develop a personal relationship with God.

  2. Mission – To help the youth recognize their potential, while teaching them worthwhile values and attributes that will not only build character, but will carry over into their adult lives.

Guiding Principles:

  • Teaching that the most important foundation to accomplishing any goal in life is that of a sound relationship with God

  • Focus on success for all youth involved at all levels of participation

  • Build strong characters that will not be limited to athletics, but to life

  • Promote responsibility, dependability, teamwork, and respect.

With so many negative forces working against our youth in society, such as drugs and crime, here is a chance to do something positive in the community.  Now, more than ever, we need to reinforce the principles on which this country was founded and perpetuate the belief in all people being created equal and free.  Positive examples of strength and leadership are needed to sustain thos

e ideals, and we believe that our youth will reap the disciplinary benefits of participation in structured sports.
