Coach Freddie Snyder

Fred Snyder is a dedicated basketball coach and mentor. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, Florida, where he lettered in basketball and was honored as the Most Valuable Player in 1985 under Coach Winfred Lewis. Fred continued his basketball career at Pensacola State College, earning a two-year scholarship under Coach Bob Stint. He was a key player in the National Junior College State Championship team in 1985-1986 and the state runner-up team in 1986-1987.

He then attended the University of West Georgia State College on a basketball scholarship, where he played under Coach Roger Kaiser and achieved accolades such as Most Outstanding Player in a Christmas tournament, second in scoring, and third-best point guard in the conference (1987-1989).

Fred began his coaching career with Carrollton Parks and Recreation in 1999-2000, leading the 10U boys' team to a state championship and the 11U boys' team to a state runner-up position in 2000-2001. He founded the non-profit organization F.E.S. Athletics Youth Association, which serves youth athletes in Carrollton, Villa Rica, and Douglasville, Georgia. Through this organization, he has coached teams in the Youth Basketball of America (YBOA) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), achieving numerous state championships and top tournament positions.

Currently, Fred works with high school and prospective college athletes, providing personal training, skill development, recruiting, and conditioning under Coach Rickey Knight at L.B. Wallace Community College. He collaborates with other notable coaches, including Bob Stinnett (University of West Florida), Pete Pena (Pensacola State College), Robert Pritchett (Atlanta Metropolitan State College), and Paul Harrison (Clayton State).

Fred is pursuing an AS degree in Business Administration at Atlanta Metropolitan College. He is married to Cassandra Snyder, and they have two children, Malcolm and Kristin Snyder.
